500 Hours Into The Fortnite

I don’t know if I’m more surprised or disappointed that I only just recently hit 500 hours in Fortnite.

A week in Fortnite is forever and a day for player behavior and the Star Wars event is a great reminder of that. The latest set of challenges to come out of the event brings in Darth Vader and his posse of clone troopers just outside the Stone Tower. The tied-in challenge of course is to contribute to Darth Vader’s death, meaning getting at least one hit on him and skedaddling the hell out of there while players blow each other’s brains out. At least if you played at launch.

Nowadays you’re probably more likely to drop into matches where the rest of the players completely ignore Vader’s presence. Most have likely finished the task and there are easier methods of getting lightsabers and DC-15 guns that aren’t liable to be covered in other early game players. I on the other hand was able to drop in and casually shoot Vader over the course of about 5 minutes without any other players in sight.

So count Star Wars as done. I wonder if Epic will sell anything for Indiana Jones, considering the last outfit was a battle pass reward and they don’t tend to just sell those in the store at a later date. A missed opportunity if you ask me. We’re really hitting a zenith in the brand crossovers when you have Star Wars toys mingling with Attack On Titan weapons in the same game and it’s all licensed.

Anyhow that’s all I’ve got for this.
