Time to kick ass.
Take three seconds to stare at The Last Exterminator and you’re probably going to be thinking of Dick Dukem from that one video game I can’t remember the name of. And that’s obviously intentional, as the game is self-described as taking inspiration from a mixture of games including Doom, Duke Nukem, Blood, and Quake. The game is coming out at some point in the future by Ironworks Games and developed on the Mars Engine.
The demo is here and it’s pretty damn fun.

The demo will take you less than a half hour to complete and follows the first level of the game. Sticking with the theme, you play as an exterminator in the middle of an alien invasion that coincidentally is being carried out by bug aliens. What luck.
You have access to a pistol, shotgun, SMG, and detonation discs that are basically proximity mines. The world is of course littered with references and jokes like “Jank Cola,” “Redrum Cola,” and of course the Dine ‘n Dash photographed above. Enemimes are pretty basic at this point, and the full game will have 12 weapons and 16 enemies to battle through.

It’s fun. Of course another part of the game is hunting down secret areas. Once the game launches there will be built-in modding tools and the ability to create your own levels. Can’t wait to see people recreate Duke Nukem 3D and Doom, and of course original content of their own.
Check out the demo on Steam, you literally have nothing to lose.
