It has planes and crap.
The Fortnite OG chapter is pretty much over and done with, well it definitely is for me. As of November 25 I have officially hit that “I don’t care anymore” state of the game where I have all the battle pass items and can take a break for the next week.
So looking back on the season I wanted to take a few comments I made about Fortnite and iterate on them. First admitting that I was woefully incorrect about the season have 100 levels total, which was based on my assumptions from prior seasons. Generally the bonus levels double the base levels. The actual top level to keep getting rewards is 70 (50 + 20).
And you know what? That’s even better. I will maintain that if Fortnite reduced the length of its battle pass to 70, even if they made seasons a single month long, that would be an improvement on the current model. To give the programmers less of a heart attack, let’s make it two months with 70 levels. That way even the casual players can get all their stuff and everyone can be happy.

Did anyone really miss the battle pass being stuffed up the ass with useless sprays and emoticons nobody will ever use? Scratch that, there’s some dingus out there who thinks sprays are the best thing ever and will get mad at me for talking about how stupid they are. And then he’ll go back to eating glue.
Out of everything this season, I think one thing we can mostly agree on is that the loot pool got a lot better once they yanked out the deluge of mythics and more importantly all of those ridiculous movement items. Fortnite Chapter 4 got crazy with all the movement items, the instant massive heals, the over-time heals, and all that crap. Getting your hands on higher tier guns in this mode felt a lot more gratifying because they were harder to come across.
It’s also nice to have a full season where the game doesn’t blow its tenuous balance out the door for a few weeks with some ridiculous anime crossover event. And I say that knowing we’re about to get a big live event with none other than Eminem himself doing a concert and probably destroying the island for the umpteenth time, but that’s a completely different story.
