Vidjama Gmaes Work

They Just Do

It’s Free Though: Pinball M

It’s free-ish.

Pinball M is out and it’s free. Ish. So you better not be sleeping on this release, or I’ll find out where you life. And download Pinball M to your computer.

Released by Zen Studios, Pinball M is a free download that doesn’t give you a whole lot for free. You get unlimited access to one pinball table called Wrath of the Elder Gods as well as its campaign, rewards, and missions as well as daily challenges based on that board. Honestly I’m underselling the “doesn’t give you a whole lot” as you could easily get hours upon hours of gameplay out of simply working through this board and its challenges. You have seven campaign missions, five sets of masteries, and more, all on this one table.

The game has five tables total at the moment, the rest of which are locked behind a relatively cheap paywall of about $5 USD each. Your themed pinball tables are Child’s Play, Duke Nukem, Dead by Daylight, and The Thing. And you can play all of these tables without paying for them; you’re just locked to the time trial mode and none of your scores save and you can’t access the challenges/campaign.

But as far as I can tell there’s no limit on how many times you can play them. If you just want to casually play some pinball, you’ve probably got all you want at no cost. The Duke Nukem table is my favorite and will probably be the first I buy. It doesn’t have as much of a problem with the ball going right down the middle as the other tables do. I don’t know enough about pinball to tell you whether this is a great pinball game, but it’s enjoyable. Also Indie Gamer Chick is kind of an expert on pinball (being a world champ in a number of tables) and she seems to be enjoying it.

Also the game is platinum rated on Steam Deck according to the one person who has reviewed it for ProtonDB. But for a free game with one table and four that are pretty cheap ($18 for the whole bundle) it’s not a bad thing to pull out when you’re bored and want to shoot some balls. Or if you’re looking for some free crap to add to your Steam library.
