The golden god returns.

It’s been four years since Midas seemingly kicked the bucket in Chapter 2 Season 2, and people have been speculating on his return ever since. I don’t think anyone was truly convinced that Midas was gone for good, and once his ship The Marigold reappeared on the island in Chapter 5 Season 1 it was all but a matter of time.

But the dude has returned. Of course this does finally confirm that the Midas we knew from the older chapter is indeed King Midas from Greek mythology. I wonder how far in advance Epic had that planned.

Midas brings with him a new limited time mode for Fortnite; the floor is lava. Very simple but visually impressive as the game plops people down in a map full of golden guns and the goal is simple. Find higher ground and be the last person standing.

The big question now is; What is Midas up to? Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 has a pretty simple premise; Zeus wants to kill everyone for the hell of it. Will Midas join the Loopers or will he join in with Zeus? My bet is going for the good guys, he’s apparently been held in prison this whole time and probably isn’t too happy with Zeus about that.
