Chapter Fun.
I restarted V Rising because the game has officially launched and I was forced to restart V Rising. I haven’t played the game much in the last year because I knew they’d inevitably force a wipe, so this was the perfect time to get back in. Also Simon Belmont pushed my ass in.
Being out of the game for so long I’ve come to appreciate the kind of improvements they’ve made to V Rising in my absence. For starters it’s nice to see that the Blood Altar has been completely removed from the game. I spent a while trying to figure out how to build it at the start before the tutorial showed me that you just press a button now. That’s great. Now it’s possible to hunt multiple V Blood enemies without going back to your base.

Naturally I leveled up a lot faster in this playthrough since I know the game pretty well and I’m better versed in how to micromanage resources and get what I need in the exact order I need it. Up to Act II of course. The only change I made to my private instance was to turn off restrictions on teleportation. Every single other slider remains at the standard point. Why? Because I hate traveling in V Rising. It takes too damn long and everything in the game is built on hindering your travels. So now I can teleport at waystones while holding items.
Because screw the devs.

I might fine tune some other numbers as I go along because I don’t want to hit the same point I did last time where the difficulty spikes ridiculously and the game just stops being fun to play. I like V Rising but you do hit a point around Act 2 where the bosses throw so many stupid gimmicks at you that the game really stops being fun and becomes a ridiculous slog.
Also around Act 2 is when the bosses start ganging up on you. Taking on one boss while under-leveled is hard enough as it is, but the Act 2 area has so many bosses walking around that are clearly not meant to be fought until Act 3 or very late into Act 2 that it’s insane. I’m having a hard enough time as it is against the frost guy or whatever his name is without Simon Belmont acting as his personal chauffer.
This is also what I’m talking about with the game having bad difficulty spikes and routinely wasting my time. I waited around for a full hour before Simon stopped following the boss I needed to kill to get the crap I needed to build better stuff and kill the other bosses. It sucks.
Back to the grind.
