I don’t know why.
Banana is a game on Steam, it released April 23, 2024 and it’s an idle clicker where you click a banana. It is available as a free to play title and the description says you click bananas to get more bananas. Its premise is as simple as the name.
Banana is a clicker Game, in which you click a Banana! In Banana you click the Banana to gain even more Bananas!!
But the reason Banana is getting attention is because it inexplicably has more than 18,000 players on Steam and a very positive 94% rating among 1,800 reviews. Why? What do people love so much about Banana? I don’t know, maybe they’re all Minions fans. One thing they’re all doing is farming banana items. You can get Steam marketplace bananas simply by playing Banana on Steam.
And while most of the items are going for a few cents here and there, a couple are selling on the market for a good $10-20. And one? The Crypticnana, I assume, is the rarest one in the game. The market says there are only 25 of them.

The Crypticnana is selling for over $100 to at least one brilliant investor.

Of course this has only generated speculation on the game’s forums that the developer is using the rare bananas to pack their own pockets, and who can say if that theory is true. The only thing I do know is that there are a lot of people mining a banana game for banana items right now, and that’s pretty bananas.
Check out Despicable Me 4 in theaters in July.
