Supermarket Together takes Steam by storm.

If anyone ever tells you they know the secret to success on Steam, kick them in the balls and run.

Supermarket Together is an interesting game to see on Steam’s best-seller and trending list. It doesn’t look much different than the dozens of other shopping “simulator” games that come out on Steam every month, nothing from the gameplay to the graphics to the UI are particularly innovative or good looking, and in most universes it probably went completely unnoticed among the clutter.

And yet the game is getting a pretty massive response on Steam. Over 42,000 people are playing it on a Sunday morning and it is currently sitting at a 90% very positive rating. Maybe it’s because of all the YouTubers playing Supermarket Simulator recently that helped drive gamers to this title. Maybe it’s because of the 16 player co-op or the ability to beat customers/employees with brooms. Maybe it’s Maybelline.

Maybe it’s because the game is free.

Either way gamers seem to be having a fun time playing it. Maybe you should be one of the cool kids and join them.
