Forza: Finally Retiring the Twixmobile

It has hit retirement age.

It’s been a long time since my last post about Forza Motorsport but I am in fact still playing this wretched game. I’m not addicted, I’m mostly just interested to see what will break first; the massive inventory of cars in this game or my will to keep playing it. At no point have I ever “grinded” in Forza to level my cars up, which should be obvious when I point out that I own 129 cars thanks to events and general need for participating in said races.

46 of my cars have never been used and are still level 1. 12 of them are at the level 50 max level and have been officially retired from use. The latest is my personal favorite, the Twixmobile. Yes, the Twixmobile, a car that I noted makes up for its lack of speed and acceleration with notable handling around corners. The Twixmobile is a community skin wrapped around a 1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale EVO.

I love the community wraps in Forza Motorsport, and I love this one even more.

This wrap can be found on the 2024 Ford Mustang GT and I would be shocked that it hasn’t been DMCA’d off the store if it weren’t for the fact that Nintendo lawyers still don’t really understand the internet. PokeMon baby fur art? The filename is “Pokefur fun” created by “Gr1mmCr33pers”, appropriately named. I don’t think we need to say much more about this skin.

I think the most shocking revelation of the week is that I only have 175 hours in this game and my character is level 381. I don’t know if 175 hours feels like a lot or a little to you, but it feels like very little. Forza Motorsport released a year ago, which means even I have played the equivalent of an hour every other day. I have no clue how much of that is accounted for sitting in the menu.

It’s most impressive that after all this time Forza has still not fixed the freezing glitch when booting into a tour and playing the intro cinematic. I would say there’s a good 50/50 chance of it happening on the Xbox Series X. You’d think if the game had a crashing issue it would be during the races, but I haven’t actually had the game crash during a race. Always when booting up a cutscene.

There was an update not too long ago that made some AI adjustments. Apparently AI are now less prone to rear ending each other, and I do think I saw some improvement in the races. Penalties are now rated on severity and evidently more accurate. The penalty system in Forza has always been absolute shit so I’m interested to see how it is going forward. You can t-bone a car and knock it off the track and get zero penalty but then get lightly rear ended by another car and suddenly get a 1.5 second penalty out of nowhere because the game blames you for it.

This is actually why I don’t play multiplayer. I’m not great at racing games but that’s not a deterrent, but the Forza community is complete shitass and full of toxic sweats who know exactly how to hit you off the track and get away with it. It’s awful.

Back to the grindstone.
