Saber Quietly Shelved Wild Card Football (On PC)

Has yet to make a public comment.

Wild Card Football is dead on PC, long live Wild Card Football on consoles. I noticed on Steam this week that Saber Interactive’s football title Wild Card Football has been very quietly removed from sale. As quietly as you can get, by which I mean the company has made absolutely no comment on the removal anywhere they have internet presence. It wasn’t foretold and as of November 2 it hasn’t been acknowledged.

The removal appears to just affect PC, with the Steam and Epic Games Store disappearing so fresh that the Epic Games listing still has a result on Google. The Steam page still exists because Valve doesn’t take a game’s store page down just because the developer doesn’t want the game for sale anymore.

And this is just PC. Head over to consoles and it gets a little confusing. The game was added to the PS+ collection a few months ago, and is buyable for $29.99 straight up on PS4/PS5. The Xbox store lists a trial but no option to buy the game. The Nintendo Store meanwhile is business as usual.

Wild Card Football launched October 2023, and considering it just made it to PS+ collection in September it seems weird to start binning it from various stores. I sent an email off to Saber Interactive to see if they have a comment on this and we’ll see if they get back after the weekend.
