Diaries From Fortnite: Chapter 2 Remix, Yo

It’s time to remix chapter 2.

I killed Snoop Dogg. Actually I didn’t, I knocked him down through repeated bullets to the head and then he became my friend. Which is exactly how guns work in real life.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Chapter 2 OG Remix Season is officially upon us and that means one thing. I’m going to talk about Fortnite again. I haven’t had this blast of nostalgia since the first Chapter 1 OG Season 1 Chapter remix chapter season and let me tell you…Chapter 2’s map is really crazy when you’re playing it with the modern amenities of Fortnite Unreal 5. Playing Chapter 1 was weird enough as it was, going back to before the game had swimming.

But obviously it’s not all the same. How did we get here? I don’t know, the butterfly brought us to Chapter 2. Why? I don’t know. Snoop Dogg is here as is Eminem, Ice Spice, Rap Boy Reloaded, with a missing seat at the table that I assume will be filled by Midas. Why is Snoop working with Midas? He probably has really good weed.

All the superhero shit from Chapter 5 is gone, thank Christ, and more importantly the melee weapons are gone for now. I’m sure they’ll be back in Chapter 6 and at this point I have no clue where the story is going. It was weird enough when the Doom story came to an abrupt end a full month before the season ended so Epic could do its Fortnitemares event. As for where the overall plot is going, I question if Epic even knows.

Speaking of Snoop Dogg, Epic has completely changed the Music Pass into something that everyone can enjoy, even if you don’t like Fortnite Festival. And it has made the pass stupidly easy to beat. How stupidly easy? I already finished it on day 2. It takes very little effort to beat the Music Pass, much less than it did for prior passes.

I’m not upset with this. It means I can spend time playing the Fortnite Festival because I want to, not because I’m playing for the quests. And speaking of quests, now that Festival feeds directly into the battle pass, it’s easier than ever to upgrade your battle pass. How easy? I am level 26 after two days of playing the new season. And yes I realize that every new season launches with a crapload of upfront missions that pitch you forward by a good amount. Usually not this much.

Granted the increased efficiency is also because there are only 30 days in this season. Full season runs to December 2. We’ll see how long it takes to get through all 100(?) levels.
