Ballistics.

Do you enjoy Counter Strike but wish you could play it in Fortnite? Your wish is Tim Sweeney’s command. With the endless push to turn Fortnite into the metaverse that Tim Sweeney dreams it could be, Fortnite is once again pulling in a new mode. Announced earlier today, Ballistic is an upcoming 5v5 game mode set to launch this month in Fortnite.

The competitive game mode puts players in first person view and it’s the bomb mode you know and love from pretty much any similar shooter. Valorant, Counter Strike, XDefiant. Well maybe not XDefiant. I’m sure Overwatch probably has a similar mode. Players take turns attacking and defending with the attackers planting a “rift point device” bomb at one of two points on the map. Let’s call them Bombsite A and B.

Games are played in rounds with no respawns and it is first to 7 wins. You get credits between rounds that let you purchase better weapons, and obviously you lose your guns if you die during a round. I’m looking forward to seeing Team Liquid’s roster for this mode.

Ballistic will be in deep early development, with one map and a limited number of weapons/items available. For probably obvious reasons Ballistic is not available in Russia, but for some reason it’s also not available in South Korea.
