They are disappearing off Steam.
Twas two nights before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring except the Cartoon Network rep removing their games from Steam. More games, since Warner Bros under CEO David Zaslav seems dedicated to ruining as much good will as possible with their customers. Zaslav really seems to hate children and the idea of them being entertained or educated. But more games disappeared off Steam today.
The games include Steven Universe: Unleash the Light released in 2021, Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time from 2020, OK K.O.! Let’s Play Heroes, as well as Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games and Adventure Time: Finn and Jake’s Epic Quest. As of this publishing it is still possible to purchase Monsters Ate My Birthday Cake and the VR title Cartoon Network Journeys VR can be acquired for free.
For the unaware, Warner Bros. has been slowly burning its game division to the ground. A handful of games were pulled from sale earlier this year in March with the death of Adult Swim as a publishing label for indie games. In line with their usual ethical standards, Warner Bros. refused to transfer ownership of the Stores back to the developers. The Cartoon Network website with its big catalog of web games was unceremoniously shut down in August.
Samurai Jack is oddly enough still buyable on Epic Games Store. For now. Warner Bros. for their part have yet to say absolutely anything about this other than to quietly update the pages with messages like:
Attention players, Magic Man’s Head Games will no longer be available for sale after Dec 23rd, 2024
Thanks for playing,
Cartoon Network Games
Can’t even take the time to spell out December. I’ll let you know when WB inevitably kills off MultiVersus, since that seems to be next on the chopping block.
