Steam Gets Pirated Copy Of That’s Not My Neighbor

Allegedly.

That’s Not My Neighbor is a deduction game where the player acts as the doorman for a building in the apocalypse and has to determine if the people entering the building are its tenants or doppelgangers. So what better game to have an (alleged) doppelganger show up on Steam than this? I can’t think of a better one, except maybe Among Us.

Developed by Nacho Sama, That’s Not My Neighbor recently appeared on Steam under the title “That’s not your Neighbor” under the developer name Nacho Sama and publisher Vertex Games. This is the only game by Vertex Games on Steam at the moment. And it’s fake, apparently. Well not fake, just unauthorized by the developer. A pirated copy, allegedly.

When asked about the validity of the Steam page, Nacho Sama had the following to say;

Hi, no it is not authorized, supously that game will be remove like in a week.

I’m currently working on a new version of the game that I will release on steam, I will make a post here when my steam page became public.

Vertex are denying that the game is an unauthorized copy, replying to a review with;

As we announced, the current situation involves the publication of the game.

We talked this with Nacho few days ago, and we have already resolved this problem.

In a few days to a week, it will be completely resolved.

It should be noted that Vertex claims they spoke with Nacho “a few days ago” in a post dated January 7, while Nacho Sama’s post that the game was unauthorized was published January 8. We will have to see how quickly Valve can take action to remove the game from sale and reimburse customers, if it is in fact an unauthorized copy.

More on this as it develops.
