Get that Gameboy nostalgia going.
Retsuzan’s games look like palette swaps and I’m pretty sure that’s because some of them borderline are. Maybe it’s also because the Gameboy didn’t exactly have a massive depth of options to make your game look unique. Either way, their catalog of games is getting dumped on Steam this week and if you’re looking for that old Gameboy nostalgia but with modern titles. You’ve found it.
The library consists of seven titles including the not-Mario-Land Cham the Cat Adventure. Then you have Tetris-esque Jewelinx, Breakout clone Oumuamua, shooting gallery Thunder Striker, side-scrolling beat-em-up Rumble Dragon, 1v1 fighting game Dandan Z, and finally the side scrolling ship shooter Verzeus. For pronunciation guides on most of these games I will say good luck, we’re all counting on you.
Retsuzan’s games are being published by Henteko Doujin, a company known for publishing some really bizarre games. Will they be any good? I guess we’ll find out together.
