The Detractor.

The Detractor released on Steam yesterday and if you didn’t pick it up you’re already too late. The game has been vaporized off the Steam store in the span of about 24 and it’s probably for copyright reasons.

Now if you don’t know what The Detractor is, and I’m just posting this for the 2% who aren’t already well versed, it’s a collection of mini-games surrounding internet court jester Darksydephil. Phil Burnell to the guy who deposits his checks at the bank. The Steam store carried the description;

Defeat the King of Hatred in this Roguelike fighting adventure!

Why was it removed? Well the game isn’t listed as banned in Steam’s database meaning it was like hit with a copyright takedown. By who? We’re guessing Phil Burnell given it’s also fair to assume this game uses his footage/photos without his permission. The game is up on Google Play but doesn’t seem to use any DSP images going by the store screenshots.

What a shame. As an added bit of lore, the game’s release coincides with the day DSP got caught on camera choking the chicken.
